5-Day Improv Summer Comedy Camp for 9th-12th Graders (June 16-20th)
The Comedy Arena presents its Summer Camp series for the young and aspiring jokesters. Camp goers will learn to support their peers, make big choices, and play on stage without any plans. Using improvisation, we will develop our funny bones and learn the tricks of the trade which will be shared with family and friends on the last day of camp in a comedy showcase. This final performance will be 100% original, starring the creative and comedic talents of the campers. [This showcase will be a separate event with a pay what you want ticket cost]
Programming:
Our camp programming includes the Basics of Improv, how to “Yes, And”, Scene work, creating characters, stage presence and the introduction to improv short-form game play (like those you might see in a Comedy Arena show).
Counselors:
Our camp counsellors are all experienced teachers and improv instructors. In addition to enjoying daily games and practices with their group instructor, campers will meet with our Comedy Arena All Star specialists every day to learn specialized skills such as character building, scene work and the power of “yes and.”
